Welcome to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine Online Services
ONLINE PHYSICIAN LICENSE RENEWAL
The Board of Registration in Medicine is pleased to announce the introduction of Online License Renewal (OLR) for Massachusetts physicians with full licenses. Physicians may now complete the renewal application and pay the fee online. The Board will send a renewal notice by mail 60 days in advance of a physician’s license expiration date, but will no longer automatically send hard copy renewal application packets. Physicians may request a paper application from the Board if they wish. Physicians may also review and update their Physician Profiles online using the OLR system.
Go to Online License Renewal to register with the OLR site and use the Board’s online services.
PLEASE NOTE: 200 Harvard Mill Square is a new postal address. Many GPS devices and internet mapping sites will not have this new address in their databases. In these cases, please use the old address: 178 Albion Street.
Mission Statement
The Board of Registration in
Medicine was established in 1894. The Board consists of seven members,
five physicians and two public members, who are appointed by the
Governor for staggered three-year terms.
The overriding mission of the
Board is to serve the public by striving to ensure that only qualified
physicians are licensed to practice in the Commonwealth, to ensure
that those physicians and health care institutions in which they
practice provide to their patients a high standard of care, and
to support an environment that maximizes the high quality of health
care in Massachusetts.
The Board investigates complaints,
holds hearings and determines sanctions. These functions are critical
to protecting the public by ensuring that only competent physicians
and acupuncturists are practicing in Massachusetts.
